[6/29/2020] Monday, June 29 All Cobalt locations are NOW OPEN 

Except - Offutt Building 500 and the Old Market Branch (310 S. 10th St.)

Additional branch lobbies will be re-opening Monday, June 29. All Cobalt locations are now open except Offutt Air Force Base Building 500 and Old Market loctions.

At Cobalt Credit Union, safety and welfare of our members, volunteers and employees is very important to us. Since the news of COVID-19 first broke, we continue to monitor and follow guidance from local health authorities and from the Center for Disease Control (CDC).

We are taking every precaution to provide a safe environment for our employees, volunteers, and members. 
Some of these precautions include:

·         Enhanced sanitation and disinfectant measures at all branches.

·         Installation of plexi-glass at member facing stations.

·         Stickers on the floor to improve social distancing.

·         Our employees will be wearing masks and we encourage (though we do not require) our members to do the same.

[6/15/2020] Additional Lobbies Re-Opening Responsibly on Monday, June 15.

Additional branch lobbies will be re-opening Monday, June 15. At Cobalt Credit Union, safety and welfare of our members, volunteers and employees is very important to us. Since the news of COVID-19 first broke, we continue to monitor and follow guidance from local health authorities and from the Center for Disease Control (CDC).

Effective Monday, June 15, 2020:
We are re-opening 
selected additional branch lobbies.

We are taking every precaution to provide a safe environment for our employees, volunteers, and members. 
Some of these precautions include:

·         Enhanced sanitation and disinfectant measures at all branches.

·         Installation of plexi-glass at member facing stations.

·         Stickers on the floor to improve social distancing.

·         Our employees will be wearing masks and we encourage (though we do not require) our members to do the same.
 

The locations that will re-open on June 15th are:

  • Ames – 3161 Ames Ave.

This will be a phased approach and our branches will not be staffed at full capacity in order to better protect everyone. We appreciate your patience and your membership. Some of these precautions include:

Cobalt's Shred Day scheduled for May 9th has been cancelled. A reschedule date is to be determined. Thank you for your understanding!

[3/31/2020] Appointments available for Emergencies Only

Effective Immediately: For the safety of our employees and our members, only emergency essential appointments are available for members. These calls will be received by our Call Center and scheduled by our Headquarters branch.

[3/27/2020] Extended Contact Center Hours

We’ve expanded our normal Contact Center Hours to better meet our members needs during the COVID crisis.  Effective immediately our contact center hours will be the same as our Video Banking hours:

Monday - Friday 7:30 AM to 7:00 PM | Saturday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM | Sunday 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM  

A Message from our President & CEO

We understand that the COVID crisis makes us anxious, but the important thing to keep in mind is that Cobalt has been serving our members for over 74 years. We have survived recessions, war, stock market shifts, floods and many other crises. Although this pandemic is new territory, we have strategically planned for a variety of emergencies and have put solutions in place that allow us to continue to provide service to our members in spite of these events. Our management teams are meeting daily and are tracking current events as well as financial and member trends to determine the best practice in meeting our members’ financial needs. With this in mind we have made the following changes in the last week.

  • Contact Center Hours -- To handle the large call volume we are experiencing at this time, we have doubled the size of our contact center and expanded our contact center hours. Our contact center hours will now mirror our Video Banking hours which are available 7 days a week.  (7:30 AM to 7:00 PM Monday through Friday, Saturday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Sunday 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM Central standard Time.) 
  • Making an appointment -- For those members needing to make an appointment with a Cobalt representative, please call our contact center at 402.292.8000 to make these arrangements.  

And finally we want to say “thank you” to you our members. We’ve asked you to use utilize our contact center and our mobile channels while our branches are closed and you listened. The number of members taking advantage of our Video Banking channel and our Interactive Teller Machines (ITMs) has skyrocketed. For many of you this was your first time utilizing this technology and we appreciate the way you’ve embraced and utilized it so we can continue to serve you. 

We have taken a number of measures to keep you, our members, and our employees safe.  We appreciate your patience during this time.  As we have done for over 74 years, our Cobalt team is here for you.

At Cobalt Credit Union the health, safety and welfare of our members, volunteers and employees is very important to us. Since the news of COVID-19 first broke, we continue to monitor and follow guidance from local health authorities and from the Center for Disease Control (CDC).  Although we are taking every precaution, we need to reduce public access and move away from in-person branch visits yet continue to offer alternative banking solutions.  

Effective immediately, we are closing branch lobbies. You will continue to have access to your accounts and all your banking needs will be met. For your convenience, the following banking services listed below are available to you

  • Exterior ATMs/ITMs remain open.
  • Our Video Banking Live Tellers are available Monday-Friday from 7:30 am to 7 pm, Saturday 8 am to 5, and Sunday 11 am to 4 pm.
  • Online banking is available 24 hours a day, every day, by visiting cobaltcu.com
  • Our contact center is available to assist you Monday-Friday 8 am to 5 pm and Saturday 8 am to noon, by dialing 402-292-8000.

Protect Yourself From Fraud

The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has issued an alert that scammers are taking advantage of consumers fear surrounding the Coronavirus.  Please be on the alert for emails, texts, and posts that offer claims of vaccines, products or medical supplies in exchange for your information, money or  credit card information. 

Tips for our members:

  • We as a credit union will be sharing updates and information on our website COVID-19 page on our website.
  • Use only reputable sources when searching for information about the coronavirus.
  • Be aware of phishing emails and never click unknown attachments or links
  • Be cautious of emails and phone calls offering unexpected information and asking for personal information.
