SAC FCU and Omaha Fashion Week unveil SAC Money Dress

Papillion, NE August 8, 2016 – SAC Federal Credit Union (SAC) and Omaha Fashion Week (OFW) will be debuting the new SAC Money Dress at the OFW preview event to be held at SAC Headquarters in Papillion, NE on Tuesday, August 9th, (5:30 pm – 7:30 pm).    In addition to unveiling the new SAC Money Dress the  OFW preview event offers a sneak peek at the designs that will be coming to the next Omaha Fashion Week, August 22 – 27th at the Omaha Design Center.

This season’s SAC Money Dress was designed and constructed by local designer Alesha Johnson. Johnson entered her award winning design in the SAC Money Dress Design Contest last spring. Her design was selected from dozens of images for dresses made from currency.  Johnson says the inspiration for her design is “contrast”. Johnson liked the contrast of “merging very organic shapes with a geometric silhouette”. She also wanted a design that was elegant and had a “Juxtaposition of order and creativity”.

Johnson spent over 30 hours constructing the SAC Money Dress with about 1/3 of the time spent folding tiny fans made of one dollar bills. The SAC Money Dress will be featured nightly at Omaha Fashion Week, August 22 – 27th. The SAC Money Dress design contest is just one of several program SAC Federal Credit Union has initiated in partnering with Omaha Fashion Week to benefit the design community in Omaha. After it’s showing at Omaha Fashion Week, the SAC Money Dress will be donated to the American Red Cross Go Red for Women Event.
