Board of Directors Election Procedures
Cobalt Credit Union members will be able to vote at designated Credit Union branches prior to the Annual Meeting for the candidates of their choosing to serve on the Board of Directors. The Nominating Committee of the Board of Directors has approved four nominees from members who submitted their applications. An election will not be conducted by ballot when there is only one nominee for each position to be filled. Any member who desires to run for the Board may do so now only by a nomination by petition signed by 500 of the Credit Union’s members. Petitions must be received by September 21, 2018. Each nominee by petition must submit a brief statement of qualifications and biographical data along with a signed statement that the nominee is agreeable to nomination and will serve if elected. No nominations will be accepted at the Annual Meeting.

Please include your name, address, account number, and sign your request if it is in writing. Absentee ballots will be mailed beginning October 4, 2018. In order to be counted, all absentee ballots must be received by the Credit Union no later than October 26, 2018.
To be eligible to vote, you must be a member of Cobalt Credit Union by September 30, 2018. A member is considered to be an account holder, 18 years old or older, and primary on the account. There is one vote per member, not per account. Election results will be announced during the Annual Meeting on Friday, November 2, 2018.

Manager, Identification and Access Control Office at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Retired Command Chief Master Sergeant for the United States Strategic Command. During his Air Force career, he held numerous positions within the Security Forces career field. After retiring from his nearly 27 year Air Force career, Steve was a self-employed small business owner. He was also an adjunct professor and assisted with course curriculum development at Bellevue University. Education includes a Master’s Degree from Central Michigan University and a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Nebraska. He is actively involved in the community and serves as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Sanitary Improvement District #514. He has served on various Cobalt Credit Union committees and the board of directors since 1997. He received the National Association of Federal Credit Union’s Certified Volunteer Expert award and Credit Union National Association’s Certified Credit Union Volunteer designation among several other certifications. He has completed 53 Volunteer Achievement Program self-study courses. He currently serves as the Chairman, Board & Volunteer Governance Committee. He was elected in November, 2015, for a three-year term on the Cobalt Credit Union Board of Directors.
Investment Advisor Representative at Principal Financial Group since October, 2010. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Nebraska Wesleyan University. After graduation he worked as a tax accountant for a CPA firm before becoming an Investment Advisor. While working as an Investment Advisor he has maintained his CPA license. He has worked as a volunteer on the Credit Union’s Supervisory Committee since 2010, serving as an Alternate, Member, Secretary and now as the Chairman. He is active in a number of community organizations. He serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for Zeta Psi Fraternity/Omicron and is a QLI Ambassador for Quality Living, Inc.
Of Counsel, Dornan, Troia, Howard, Breitkreutz & Conway Law Firm. Formerly General Counsel at Father Flanagan’s Boys’ Home. He has been a practicing attorney since 1982. His areas of experience include arbitration, business transactions, copyrights, criminal law, employment law, estate planning, health law, immigration, insurance law, intellectual property, litigation, mediation, negotiations, and privacy law. He has served as a Judge Advocate for the United States Air Force, both on active duty and with Air National Guard for 21 years. In addition he has worked as an attorney advisor for the federal government and been in private practice. He has been a part-time University Professor for more than twenty-five (25) years. He is Retired Lieutenant Colonel and Air National Guard Staff Judge Advocate. His education includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Health from the Pennsylvania State University and a Juris Doctorate Degree from the Catholic University of America. He is a Certified Financial Planner. He has been a Cobalt Credit Union volunteer since 1999, and was elected to the Board of Directors in November, 2000. He is the chair of the CEO Succession Planning Committee. He was re-elected in November, 2015, for a three-year term on the Cobalt Credit Union Board of Directors.
Jones, Patrick L.
Retired Lieutenant Colonel, USAF. Served SAC as Chief, Intelligence Data Processing Division and Chief, Airborne Command Post Programming Division, and as Command Pilot. A Vietnam combat veteran in Air Commandos, his military awards include the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medals, Commendation Medal, and Air Medals. Founder/owner of Tri-J Computer Services, now retired. Education includes a Master's Degree in Business Administration from the University of Utah and BS in Political Science from Oklahoma State University; Served 16 years on Bellevue School Board and as Past President; Offutt Advisory Council Co-Commander; served on the Nebraska Association of School Boards Board of Directors, Vice President of the Sarpy Serenaders Board of Directors, Military Officers Association of America Heartland Chapter Board of Directors, and Past President of both the Bellevue Dawn and Noon Optimist Clubs. He has been a Cobalt Credit Union volunteer since 1992, and was elected to serve on the Board of Directors in March, 1993. He currently serves on the following Committees: Board & Volunteer Governance, and CEO Succession Planning Committees; He is also Board Chairman of SAC Financial Services, Inc. Pat was inducted into the Defense Credit Union Council’s Hall of Honor in 2015. He was re-elected in November, 2015, for a three-year term on the Cobalt Credit Union Board of Directors.
